Calculators that convert visitors into customers
Online cost calculators that convert visitors into customers
Do you need a cost effective way of generating more enquiries through your website 24/7, whilst helping your customers at the same time?
We can design and develop fully customised bespoke cost calculators which help customers get instant quotes at any time of the day or night, without them having to call or leave a message and wait for a call back.
And added bonus...
As an added bonus, customers can also send the quote directly to their email address at the click of a button, and you'll also automatically receive a copy showing the selections they made, and the calculated cost.
So whether you're a sole trader or a small to medium size business, our bespoke cost calculators can be built to suit your pricing, your services, and your brand.
Why add a cost calculator to your website?
As you'll find elsewhere on this website, on LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, etc., TargaWeb's founder Daron Harvey's responsibilities in pricing clarity and global compliance date back to 2014 for the global corporation Hertz. They're based on solid principles which put the customer first.
These principles are reinforced by Marcus Sheridan in his bestselling books They Ask, You Answer
and Endless Customers
and is why more and more businesses around the globe at adopting them to gain trust and get a competitive edge.
Here are some of the benefits of having a quote calculator
Instant quotes for your customers
Potential customers can generate a quote in seconds by making selections based on their specific requirements. Your online pricing calculator will crunch the numbers to produce a quote which the customer can then email to themselves at the touch of a button.
You'll also get the quote sent to you, so you can follow up on it when is suits you.
Making larger quotes more affordable
If some of your quotes are quite large, our calculators can provide the option of offering your potential customers split payments, with or without interest. The choice is yours.
Just let us know if you want to offer split payment plans, what your terms are, and we'll bring it to life for you!
Promotes other services
An online calculator could inform people of services you offer which they hadn't realised. This not only increases the chance of them using your services, but is also a great way of up-selling with add-ons.
Time saving
If you're tired of wasting time chasing leads that go nowhere, your online price calculator can reduce that burden by doing the qualifying for you. That allows you to free up time to focus on doing what you do best.
Increase conversions
By making it easier for your website visitors to take the next step, you stand a far better chance of those potential customers becoming actual customers.
Making it easier to generate your own quotes
What could be easier than using your own fully customised cost calculator to generate quotes for your customers?
TargaCalc v's manual quoting
How does TargaCalc compare to manual quoting?
This grid below shows how a TargaCalc cost calculator compares to traditional or manual ways of providing potential customers with quote & estimates.
Actual results will vary from industry to industry, and will also be influenced by the volume of visitors your websites gets, and how prominent and accessible your calculator is.

This particular example uses prices made up for the demo, and include a number of features in the background which reflect the requirements of the client who commissioned the build of this calculator. Those features including:
- a minimum charge of £15.
- a minimum charge of £50 for gutter and fascia cleaning.
- separate charges for gutters and fascias, but with a discounted rate for
overlapping

This is a demo... You’ll have the option to tell us exactly what you need, your prices and variants, and of course we’ll apply the colours and styling to suit your own website.
How It Works
Our pricing calculators are fully customisable, allowing you to specify features, services, quantities and variants. The colours and styling can also be made to match your website.
We make things as simple and as affordable as possible for you. Here's how we do it...
1: We learn about your pricing
- You tell us about your services and options you provide, and how you base your charges.
- Are your charges influenced by distance, time of day, ease of access and other factors?
- We can combine many variables which reflect the way you like to do business, so your customers don't get any nasty surprises, and you don't find yourself over or under charging.
- If some of your quotes are on the larger side, you want to offer them split payment options, with or without interest. We can handle that for you too!
2: We design and build your bespoke calculator
- Your pricing calculator will be mobile-friendly, easy-to-use, and branded to your business.
- We'll take care of all the technical stuff, from the options you need, the prices you charge, and the email address you need the quotes to be sent to.
3: We get it ready to add to your website
- We make it really easy to add your new calculator to your website.
- Your web designer will simply need to add a small piece of code so that the calculator can be made visible to visitors of your website.
- If your website has been built with WordPress, we can provide you with an easy to follow implementation guide. Here's an example showing how TargaCalc can be added as a Wordpress website calculator.
- If you want your cost calculator to be present on more than one page, all your web designer will need to do is apply the code snippet to wherever you want to use it. There is no additional charge!
- Your new calculator should work straight away, but as part of our service we'll test for you to make sure that it's working correctly and looks as it should, whether your customers are using a mobile, laptop or desktop computer.
4: We host and manage your calculator
- Your online calculator will be securely hosted and managed by TargaWeb.
- You have the peace of mind that we’re here for ongoing support and updates.
What does an online quote calculator cost?
The cost of an online calculator depends on a number of factors, including the number of items and their variants, complexity, and also whether you want to offer your customers the ability to pay in instalments, and how those payment plans are structured.
Our affordable online calculators start at just £595 for our fixed price Essentials
package. More information about cost, options and fixed price packages can be found here.
Some common concerns
Let's start by addressing some common concerns, and help to put a different perspective on them...
Our work is too varied to quote online
Not all types of business are able to provide quotes online due to the nature of the work and the range of factors which can impact the cost. It might therefore only be possible to quote for for some jobs following prior discussion, and maybe even a personal visit.
However...
You'd be surprised how effective a pricing estimator can be when providing potential customers with the ability to select quantities, length, volume, type, etc., and also factor in other things which could impact price such as as distance, access, frequency, etc.
To achieve this you'll need flexibility in a pricing calculator. Many of TargaWeb's calculators are bespoke, and even our lowest cost entry level calculators can hardly be described as off the shelf!
I don't like displaying my prices online
It's a fact that not all business owners are comfortable in displaying prices on their website.
There are two main reasons for this:
- Undercutting: You might be concerned that your competition will undercut you. Undercutting usually results in a price race to the bottom, especially with competitors who can only get business by being the cheapest. Eventually you'll find yourself working for practically nothing, and that's to the benefit on no one... especially if there's not enough income to put food on the table and keep you in business!
- Too expensive: If you're concerned that your potential customers will think you're too expensive for them, then they probably don't understand the value you can bring.
If your pricing calculator is able to educate potential customers about why you do things the way you do, and why you charge what you charge, you stand more chance of getting the sale.
So unless you're prepared to be negotiated on down, those potential customers were probably never
potential
to begin with!

Benefits and Features
What does a pricing calculator actually do?
A pricing calculator (also commonly referred to as a quote calculator, cost estimator, or quote generator) is an interactive tool which allows potential customer to produce instant quotes or estimates based on their specific requirements.
A good pricing calculator should be able to be either designed or configured to represent the specific pricing model (or pricing methods) of that specific business, and provide potential customers with a sufficient range of options to allow them to select combinations of quantities, sizes, lengths, and other variants to meet their needs.
Some pricing calculators, including those which TargaWeb develops, can also provide cost breakdowns, split payment options, dynamic messaging, etc., and also allow the customer to email the quote to themselves as well as to the business.
What kind of features can be included in a quote calculator?
Online quote calculators can be useful for many types of businesses. They can provide customers with the means to select items, services, sizes, quantities, etc., and then calculate a final price based on the values you provide.
Some quote calculators, like those from TargaWeb, can also allow the customer to email the quote to themselves, and provide you with a copy of that quote too. This can make them great for lead generation.
What are the benefits of having a custom quote calculator?
Apart from them being able to provide instant quotes for your customers 24/7, an online quote calculator can promote trust, and also promote other services which potential customers hadn't realised you offer.
It could also save you time and effort through not having to wasting time chasing leads that go nowhere. Your online price calculator can reduce that burden by doing the qualifying for you, allowing you to free up time to focus on doing what you do best and deliver a great service.
You can also track who generated each quote, enabling you to follow up as a warm lead.

How can a quote calculator improve conversions?
If you consider that a high proportion of website visitors want to know how much this thing, product or service will cost, and also what that price includes, it makes sense to help them to quickly and easily find those answers.
This is especially important for potential customers who want to find those answers there and then, so they can make an informed decision without having to pick up the phone during office hours to speak with a sales person.
Without a quote calculator or price estimator on your website, that potential customer might decide to move on and find someone who is prepared to help them to determine the cost. Trust plays a very important role in this process.
Are pricing calculators for customers, sales teams or both?
Pricing calculators are suitable for both customers and sales teams. But they can be even more flexible if the calculator has been designed to recognise whether it is being used by a potential customer or a member of your team.
This dynamic distinction between customers and employees can enable the calculator to display specific options, such as the name of the employee who is providing the quote, or different options or methods of selection which are considered to be more appropriate for the type of user.
But these distinctions between customers and sales teams is only possible if the pricing calculator has been designed in that way. TargaWeb will always provide that option, and can produce pricing calculators specifically to the requirements of your business.

Implementation
How can I get an online quote calculator for my website?
If you already have a website, you could ask your web designer to build you an online calculator.
Some web designers might use an off-the-shelf plug-in if your website has been built using WordPress or some other website builder platform, but if you're fortunate enough to have a web designer who can understand and write code, they might be able to build a bespoke quote calculator for you.
Of course TargaWeb can build you a bespoke cost calculator which can be applied directly to your website, or we could build a calculator on your behalf which your web designer could add to your website.

How is the cost calculator added to my website?
TargaWeb makes it really easy to add your new calculator to your website. Your web designer will simply need to add a small piece of code so that the calculator can be made visible to visitors of your website.
We can of course help and advise with that process.
Can a calculator be added to more than one website?
In some respects, a TargaWeb calculator can be added to more than one website.
However, it's important to understand that because there is a trust element in the way that we control the height of the parent page iFrame window on your domain based on the individual calculator pages which are hosted on TargaWeb's domain.
Without that trust element being applied between your domain and TargaWeb's domain, there will be no automated control over the iFrame height whilst the calculator is in use.
Can a cost calculator be added to a WordPress website?
Yes. TargaWeb have successfully devised a way for our cost calculators to be applied to WordPress websites.
It isn't difficult, and we can help you by guiding you through the process and testing.
How do I know that my calculator will work?
If you have any doubts that a pricing calculator will work on your website, simply get in touch and ask for the implementation tag to a demo version, and you will also be sent the implementation guide which will take you or your web designer through the simple steps to be taken.
If you are asking whether your specific calculator will work as you intend it to, please remember that it will be design and configured for you based on your requirements and your pricing model, and you’ll also get to test is as many times as you want before it goes live.
Design and Styling
Can the calculator be styled to match my website?
Yes. During the design of your calculator we will analyse the styling elements of your website and replicate them on your calculator. That will ensure that your calculator's colours, styling, fonts, etc., are consistent with your website.
Suitability
Are cost calculators suitable for all businesses?
Online cost calculators are not an ideal replacement for businesses who could use a simple static price list, because their functionality and the costs involved to build it, would... in reality... be a waste of time and money.
However, they could be perfect for businesses which provide services, bundled options, and factor in other criteria such as multiple selections, order value, distance, frequency, ease of access, and any number of other factors which have the potential to impact the cost in some way.
Types of Calculators
Does TargaWeb only make bespoke calculators?
Although TargaWeb does produce bespoke cost calculators, it is understandable that some businesses need to keep their own costs down and would prefer to have a lower priced calculator instead of spending on a fully bespoke solution.
Therefore for clients on a tight budget, we try to accommodate the most important aspects of their prices and pricing structure within partially pre-built templates.
This enables costs to be keep down, without compromising too much on what the business needs the most.
Hosting and Management
Where will the calculator be hosted?
TargaWeb has a sister web platform at targacalc.com
targacalc.com is the technical and hosting platform for most of the calculators that we build, and this provides us with immediate access for development and maintenance work during the life of your pricing calculator.
Your calculator will be displayed seamlessly on your website by using an iFrame, which will allow your calculator to look like is an integral part of you website, and not a bolt-on extra which looks out of place.
Will I need to move my website to TargaWeb so I can have a calculator?
No, you won't need to switch your website over to be managed by TargaWeb.
We'll do all we can to make it easy for your current web designer to add the calculator, but it is a fact of life that some web designers these days lack the technical skills to work within the code of a website.
If in doubt, we can do trial implementation with your current web designer to determine whether it's feasible for them to add the calculator. However, once the calculator code has been added, we can manage the calculator without having to involve your current web designer.
